Finding a rhythm, Poljen strikes Cyanwrath four times in succession, with the first blow causing the half dragon to stagger back with some shock.
Tiamat's Paladin is not so easily deterred however, and continues to strike at the barbarian, blade finding flesh multiple times.
[three hits on Poljen, total 31 damage, reduces to 16. Poljen is down to 26 I believe. But Cyanwrath is notably injured as well]
Cyanwrath renews his assault as Poljen ends his streak of successful blows.
The Barbarian appears to be losing steam, perhaps as a result of the bless spell wearing off.
[Another three hits on Poljen, 26 damage, brought down to 13. The 7 damage from Poljen's round 10 attack is still up in the air pending bless roll, but would not make a difference right now either way]
Poljen can tell that the half-dragon is faster than he is, and better armored as well. But he does not concede the fight.
Out of Character: : I think that Bless helped, but I am down low. Time to keep swinging… and hope for some decent rolls. I'll just go four more… who knows, maybe he will hit a bad patch.
Having a better measure of each other, the pace of combat slows a bit, as Cyanwrath focuses a bit more on parrying Poljen's attacks.
The barbarian cannot quite manage to score a strike, but only one of Cyanwrath's gets through.
[11 damage, reduced to 6]
Geoffroy watches in focus and concern, worried that his companion will not quite get through without any healing. Yet he will not jeopardize the challenge, not yet, and truth that Lathander will guide the barbarian's hits while protecting from Cyanwrath.
Looking to his sister and Lia, he says, "It is getting a bet worrying, but the foe has also been injured. How long should be go before intervening my friend?" The question was directed to the wood elf, though any near could answer. Whether Fay, Onwen, Velon, or any else who watched nearby.

Lia feels sick watching this fight and being unable to help. It is obvious that Poljen is wearing down from numerous gouges and cuts. He looks like he will fall at any moment. The words coming from Geoffroy help her look away from the awful sight. " Geoffroy, I fear that he will fall soon. Cyanwrath is too much of an opponent for him at this time. We can't heal him though. It is against the rules of this duel. If we did it would be obvious that he was and Cyanwrath could then use his magic and breath weapon. It would do no good. If he falls we have the power to bring him back. If he falls Cyanwrath will stop attacking him. Were we to prove false he could easily harm him beyond our ability to restore him. "
Lia is silent for a moment. " Besides, should we not be honorable? How is a creature of evil possessing of more honor than us? Poljen freely entered into this. I will not shame him by violating the rules of the duel. " She begins praying fervently to Sune to aid the valiant barbarian.
