Seeing the village down below Cratol knows that they are nearing the end of this quest to retrieve the mask. HE does wonder what type of people they will meet in this remote mountain village and how many of them they will have to go through to get to the half dragon. He is hoping that most of them will be non combatants.
As the group gets closer, two birds take to the skies. Both circle over the settlement, relaying information back to their respective masters by different methods.
At first glance, there's nothing out of the ordinary. There are armed men patrolling the perimeter, but that's not unusual, a village like this had plenty to defend itself from.
But already knowing that something was off led Poljen and Lawrance to look a little closer. There are just a few too many people in the streets, and several of the village folk seem to go out of their way to avoid the guards.
There is no sign of Rezmir in the open.
Poljen nods grimly as he sees through Trammet's eyes, and watches the guards' patrol routes. He looks about to see if there is a particular route that might get them as close as possible without being observed.
Out of Character: : Rolling Perception. But if this is Investigation ignore the +3 modifier…
After getting a birds eye view of the village and it’s inhabitants,Lawrance passes them onto the group along with his opinions “General impressions aside, these villagers may be under an iron hand. Whether the help or hinder us will depend on how scared they are of the troops guarding them. Given how easily the other gang went down, except for the troll, the footsoldiers are not likely to be much more than an annoyance. Their numbers could make them more than that. “ He surveys in detail, trying to judge leader types and casters that are among the ruffians, through his familiars keen senses.
SA : perception for seeing relationships between the soldiers.
Out of Character: : I’m going to need a solid count for us to firmly plan an attack.
While she waits for a reply from Lorairies, the drow will look around as well. Considering the guards and villagers, Zarra will consider the same questions might be asking.
Speaking, the drow says, "Perhaps both indeed, since there are many cults or factions who have both devote followers and those too scared to disagree with what is being said." At least that was her thoughts on it.

In response to Lia's last status update before leaving the group, Silas responds with. "Chasorth and I on the way, it will take us several days, even at our best, but we are coming. Be careful."
The building Rezmir went into appears to be the town's temple. A large, if slightly faded, symbol of an oak leaf adorns the building.
There are perhaps fifty armed men visible throughout the village. Most are by the perimeter, either watching for trouble approaching, or ready to respond to an alarm. Oddly, the second largest group are stationed outside of a large stable. There are a few moving about who might be lesser officers, but you spot none with the body language of a real leader.
Truly assessing the military strength here is difficult. They could easily have hundreds more men, including more powerful creatures like the troll, hidden away in the various buildings. Chances are that the buildings are not all stuffed to the brim with reinforcements, but it is tough to say with certainty how far short of that the reality falls.
There is one other oddity, an indentation in the land outside of the village. It doesn't quite look like a natural hollow, it instead almost looks like the land there had been crushed recently.
