Listen, kids may dress as grown-ups but they are NOT! This should not be an excuse for abuse!
QUOTE CLEVELAND -- A local teacher who went to prison for molesting a child said he wasn't alone in seeing pupils as prey.
"A lot of the girls dress just like adults," said "James." "They look like adults. I think the whole athletic affluence has affected that an awful lot."
"James" offered a rare look inside the mind of a pedophile teacher in hopes of informing parents of better ways to keep their children from developing inappropriate relationships with their teachers.
"Men are attracted by looks, and when you see a girl it's easy to cross that line mentally even though you know you shouldn't," he said.
James suggested that parents have regular, face-to-face meetings with their child's teachers to solidify in the teacher's mind that they are involved in their son or daughter's life.
The state says the number of teachers referred for possible misconduct, including cases of sex abuse, jumped 30 percent from 2005 through 2007.
The Department of Education received 6,235 referrals last year, up from 4,770 referrals in 2005. House Bill 79 mandated that districts report teachers who have been disciplined, but published reports say that less than one percent of the state's 155,000 teachers were on that list. It's unknown how many of those cases involve sexual relationships… Source

The interesting thing is a lot of these teachers are either transfer to other district or they receive psychological help, all this while at the same time they are teaching your kids and you have no idea what they are really thinking when they interact with your children!

I have to agree with the fact that men are more visual than women. But this should never be used as an excuse, to seduce young girls because as an adult, you are supposed to know the difference between right and wrong. James' feeble argument sets a bad precedence for all young men; what he is saying can be equated to that, it is okay for an adult male, to force himself on an adult female because she was dressed provocatively. Adults are supposed to have more discipline and control over their thoughts and actions, than a child or a teenager.
As a teacher, your job is to educate, guide, direct behaviour and instil discipline in your students. If you are in a position whereby you are experiencing lust for your students, you always have a choice: you may seek counselling or resign from your job. Furthermore, you may look for a profession that involves working mainly with men or start your own business online, in order to eliminate temptation altogether.
