Why should you not drink alcohol while on Penicillin?

I don't know the specifics, but you should not take any drug with alcohol including penicillin because alcohol may negate the desired effect.

Comments: You can take alcohol while on penicillin if it is penicillin of type V or G... you'll see it on the label.

Comments: Alcohol just causes your immune system to work poorly. So even though the antibiotics are still working, they're not backed up by the rest of your immune system. So if you have a bad infection I would definitely recommend it, if not then you're really just increasing the time it takes to heal.
