What a monster! Poor babies! I really hope she loses custody of these kids and they can be adopted into a nice home.
A five-year-old girl was left home alone in a filthy house to take care of her younger brother. Those are just some details found in a criminal complaint accusing an Oconto Falls mother of child neglect while she went to the bar. Jodie Podobnik, 23, was arrested Saturday. Her children, ages five and one, are now in protective custody. Both kids were found living in filthy conditions, according to the criminal complaint released Tuesday. Police received a tip from a neighbor after the young girl was found wandering around in the street. Police say the children were left alone for almost 48 hours to find for themselves after Podobnik went to a bar last Thursday night. Police allege the five-year-old was forced to care for her one-year-old brother. According to the complaint, police discovered a disturbing scene. Almost the entire house smelled. The younger child had on "clothing (That) was soaked through with urine" and both kids had "feces and urine on (Their) beds" and one bed "had so much urine on it that the mattress was sagging in the middle where all the urine had collected.... I find this stuff disturbing. Why did she have children if she was not going to take care of them. Where was the father(S) of said children? If she was not going to care for them then maybe he would. All I know is that children this young should not be in a position to have to take care of themselves.
