Military Ranks
Soldiers have different ranks from private, corporal, major, general, etc. Are they all the same for each section of the armed forces like marines, army, navy, etc. Plus is it possible to go from private to a much higher rank without the ones in between?

Ranks Military
The Army and the Marines generally have the same ranks although there are a few differences. The Navy and Air Force rank are different though. For pay purposes they all go from E1 through E9 on the enlisted side, W1 through W5 on the warrant officer side, and O1 through O10 on the officer side.
It is generally not possible to skip ranks wildly… except in a wartime environment, when all rules are flexible.
I will put a chart here to display and compare the various services' ranks later.
