Oxytocin & Autism

Oxytocin administered to the nose increases emotion perception in autism. Intranasal oxytocin can influence how individuals with autism perceive emotion in others, a recent study has demonstrated. This is an important first step for a potential pharmacological treatment of autism. Ref. Source 6a.

Autism and Oxytocin

I attended a talk about Oxytocin recently. It looks like a very promising cure to fight depression and increase sociability as well. It certainly being seriously pursued in research.

Neuroscientists have discovered a key connection between areas of the adult female prairie vole's brain reward system that promotes the emergence of pair bonds.
