I like how modern man thinks that the first men were simple apes and were not smart enough to do complex stuff. The fact they were able to make a tar and use it as glue tells a lot about our ancestors and just how smart they were. Granted they were burly muscle bound men but they were not stupid as people figured.
Yup, it's that superiority complex of humans coming through again. We assume ourselves so vastly superior to all who came before. Our ancestors were quite inventive, quite intelligent. And burly muscle bound doesn't mean stupid.
