Haldir stands just over six feet tall. He appears well-built and reasonably muscular, with dark brown hair, dark green eyes and fairly pale skin. Haldir appears well-kempt if not a little rough around the edges, and has a scholarly air about him. From a young age he has aspired to gain both knowledge and physical strength, and has experience in the merchant trade, although it is not necessarily where he aspires to excel. An on the whole friendly and talkative type, Haldir does not shy away from conversation but is often slow to trust new-found aquaintances. He enjoys the company of the natural world more than most.
I first discovered the existence of Samuel one late autumn evening after I had left the tavern. The sun had set and twilight had descended upon the town, draping the many alleyways and corners in shadow. I had noticed the presence of someone behind me, someone who clearly did not want to be seen, and as I continued my curiosity grew. I did not want to appear unfriendly but was wary of this man nonetheless as I greeted him. His tale was hard to believe and more than a little disquieting at first, but over the weeks and months that followed I grew to trust his words. There is no doubt he knows more about me than he will admit, and sometimes I feel as if he would prefer a greater show of trust and openness on my part. Whether he is right I cannot say.
