Alexius the Swordsman

Greetings, I am Alexius and I was given this name because of my fathers wishes, apparently that was my grandfathers name, fortunately it is actually a name I like pretty much. I stand 6.4 feet tall with an athletic body, shaped by a lot of physical training. I have short and black hair with slightly almond-shaped gray eyes. My white skin and a rather plain appearance in general makes me able to easily blend in a crowd, passing unobserved when needed. I see myself as a fighter, even if magic fashinates and interests me as much as a good sword., Ive always tried to learn to fight with a sword and unarmed, so even if I find myself more at ease with a blade at my side, I know my own body could be a lethal weapon as well if used correctly. I want to first improve myself in order to better be able to act in the world by training my swordsmanship, as well as general fighting techniques both armed and not, while keeping my mind as sharp as possible through reading or studying, Id also want to pick some magical skills, if I'm able to. I generally view alliances as useful, if they are alliances with the right people for the given situation. I intend to gain a name for myself, as well as acquiring skills and experiences useful to face the challenges ahead, in order to become the next Ruler of Kings. It should be known that I usually display a calm appearance, preferring to study and observe the situation before acting, avoiding unnecessary conflicts but plunging right into the ones I find necessary, I also believe in the balance of the world, no good can exist without evil, while no evil can exist without good, and in both of them theres part of the other, that said, I generally prefer to bring good to the world. Thus, I now start this path towards my future, may it lead to victory and success.

I usually pay attention to what and who surrounds me, seeing the same person more than once is, suspicious. I frequent the tavern daily to eat, of course, but mainly to listen and watch, sitting in a corner table and observing quietly for some time, and blending in the croud by chatting some other times, but I noticed, more than once, a figure sitting too in a corner table, that was there all the times I was there too. Starting to be more careful, I noticed the same figure while I was training my swordsmanship as well, and sometimes while I was reading in the library. The first time I approached the man, it was one night while leaving the tavern. After dinner, I stood up and left, but instead of going immediately away, I simply waited until the man made his exit from the door, more or less twenty seconds after I left. I was waiting in the shadows near the door, and hoped to use the full advantage given by the surprise in an eventual confrontation. The man was dressed quite anonymously, simple dark pants, an even simpler shirt, and a scabbard hanging from his left side where a sword was peacefully resting. He was somewhat tall, muscular but not in the imposing way, with a scar clearly visible under his right eye, and probably several others, as I later discovered. Brown hair and green eyes, the man was probably approaching his fourties. I waited until his back was turned to me, then I moved a step forward, asking if he was looking for someone. The man turned, and after a brief pause, when we studied one another for several seconds, he introduced himself, explaining who he was and why he was following me. We both returned into the tavern, where I learned that Almath, that was his name, was a soldier, and clearly an experienced one, a veteran we could say, that had the task to advise me, even if I still don't know who sent him and why. By the way, no matter who was the sender, I had a good feeling about Almath, he was clearly a deadly person, but friendly enough, and we got along pretty well. I can obviously learn a lot from this person, and I hope to do so.
