Comments: Why the delay in the payments of the salaries of civil servants and nurses? Could it be that the money which is obviously is a large amount is being placed into a bank account that offers high-interest rates? Leaving the money in such account for a couple of days can accumulate substantial interest for the depositor. [..]

I heard that they are paying arrears and back pay so it might be that they had to pay more than usual.
