Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

Britain's Prince Harry and American actor Meghan Markle are engaged, according to a statement from Kensington Palace. The wedding will take place in spring 2018.

"Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents," Kensington Palace announced in a statement on Twitter.

The pair became engaged earlier this month and will live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, the statement continued. Ref. CNN.

Meghan Markle intends to become a UK citizen, the British royal family has announced, confirming that her marriage to Prince Harry would take place at Windsor Castle in May next year.

Kensington Palace said that Windsor, a royal residence west of London, had become "A special place for the two of them."

A spokesman said Markle would retain US citizenship through the process of becoming a UK citizen but it was "Too early to say" if she would retain dual nationality. The process is expected to take several years. Ref. CNN.
