'You look too pretty to be disabled'. A WOMAN with a chronic illness was reduced to tears after being refused help by airline staff because she "Doesn't look ill enough" to be disabled. Source 9p.

Disabled To Pretty Too

This is the kind of stupidity that exists in the public domain. I get the same thing with my child they say he "Looks" normal. Not everything is skin deep and staff need to be better trained to be more sensitive.

Yeah I get the same treatment at times when people find out that I am disabled and can not always do things normal people are able to do. I find it very sad that people think you have to look, act or be in a wheelchair to be considered disabled.

Yes I get the same thing. They say oh you look too pretty to be disabled. I really don't like that. It really can hurt someone's feelings. Just because we don't look disabled does not mean that we are not.
