Having something like this to help millions of people have safe water to drink is very nice. I know how to make drinkable water in a pinch and not always have to use a filter. It is something I learned a long time ago.
I recently saw a video where a company has created a straw filter that allows you to drink from any water source without risk. The straw filters out everything.
That is impressive. I saw there are many companies that received research grants on how to make contaminated water safe. The straw filter technology must be awesome.
I’ve heard that the issue with straws and filters is that you have to train the people to use them all the time. That may be biased though, as the article was pushing a powder that binds to particulates in the water and causes them all to settle. Then, you leave the water out for ultraviolet exposure to kill the bacteria. Seems like all methods would have trouble with the training element.
