Cheaper To Buy A Bullet Than Bread

You can buy a bullet for $8 in Trinidad (black market)...Imagine, cheaper than a loaf of bread. Can you imagine the amount of illegal guns in this country?

QUOTE
IT is cheaper to buy a bullet than to buy a loaf of bread in Trinidad and Tobago.

A 9 mm bullet costs between $8 and $10 on the black-market, both undercover police and criminal figures have said, while the average cost of a loaf of bread is $11.

Bullets of this kind are easily available to criminals from illegal arms dealers and even law enforcement officers, key underworld figures have said.

The 9 mm bullet is the one of the most versatile type of ammunition and has been used to commit the majority of the 255 gun related murders committed this year.

The calibre of bullet can be used in a range of weapons, from the semi-automatic to the fully automatic, including the pistol, UZI sub-machine gun the MP-5 and AR-15 assault rifle. On Saturday, at the passing out parade of the new police recruits at the St James Barracks, Minister of National Security Martin Joseph again reminded about the availability of illegal arms and ammunition here.

"Because of our vulnerable location between the drugs producers in the South and consumers in the North we are in the unenviable position of being a main transhipment point for drugs. With the drugs come the guns and ammunition, which end up in the restless hands of the criminals."

Earlier in the week, Joseph provided figures to support his statement when he revealed that gang murders committed for the year so far numbered 190, more than doubled what it was in 2007, 91...

That's scary at any angle, and $8 isn't mush when you're selling drugs too.

I hope that your prices fall soon to give you some relief form all the high prices. I find it sad that you can buy ammo cheaper than food over there. I hope that this is not too much of a sign of things to come.

You are paying $11 for a loaf of bread? Have the prices always been high there? I thought things were expensive here in Alaska. We can get a good quality loaf of bread for about $4 or $5. We can by the cheap stuff for around $2. Ammo is a lot cheaper here too, but then we go through a lot of it with all the hunters. We pay terrible prices for fresh fruit though.

Bread Bullet Buy Cheaper

Here in Iowa a bullet costs me a average of $.20. I tend to buy them in packs of 50 to a box unless it is for my hi powered rifle they come in 20 to a box. I know that I pay a lot more for a loaf of bread $1.09 on average. I always tell people that change will only cost them 20 cents, because that is the price of a single bullet. Not that I would actually cause that change.

I find it interesting that one can affect a lot of people with just one bullet. Whether that bullet strikes a family member, a popular leader or a common thug. In many areas you will find that the price of that single bullet is cheaper than much of the basic foods like bread. yes food can change things but not as easily as that single bullet. Just the thought of many or even one single bullet in the hands of a person who is not honorable can cause fear in many people to the point they will not go to certain areas at certain times of day. That is the power of the bullet. In the wrongs or right hands that power can cause a lot of change.
