Is That A Genuine Smile?

Can you detect when a person is really genuinely smiling at you and when they are not? You may wish to take the following test and place the results of your score along with what you have learnt.

Well I got a 12 out of 20 because I was relying on the eyes and the lines around the mouth. But to add to your discussion. I would've said it is in the eyes. I didn't even think too much about the mouth lines or the dip in the eyebrows.

I always look at a person's eyes when they are smiling. If the smile doesn't touch their eyes, it's forced. Here is my score:

I got 14 out 0f 20 as well. That column was really informative. I said that the mouth was my focus for spotting fakes. It's interesting that there's a field of study on smiles. Cool find NEO, thanks.

I got 13 out of 20. I was looking at the eyes, but I guess I wasn't looking close enough. I certainly wasn't aware of all the specific differences between fake and real smiles.

I also got 13 out of 20. I tried to use the mouth to pick out the fake smiles, but I guess it didn't work out that well.

I got fifteen out of twenty correct. I always look at the eyes and eye brows. It takes someone really good to pull a fake smile off. But most of the ones I got wrong where real that I said was fake, four of the five where that way. I only guessed one smile that was fake that I thought was real.

I got a score of 14 out of 20 and I relied mostly on the eyes, and the movement of the eye lids.
