Comments: I stumbled upon this post as I was searching the internet to see if anyone had a bad experience attending Prince of Prestige Academy - School of Digital Motion Picture Production. I don't know a lot about the school but I do have some information that may be helpful to others. This past weekend I attended a "listening party" in Atlanta, GA. This is a party where recording artists played their music for others to hear and critique. I was having a casual conversation with a fellow who at the time I believed to be another recording artist. I mentioned that I was into video production and my goal is to learn how to make music videos. The gentleman told me that I should enroll at Prince of Prestige Academy, and that he knew the founder of the academy. I later found out the man that I was speaking to was not a recording artist at all but owned a large recording studio in the Atlanta area. So, I decided to check out the school.
Anyways, I looked into the school and called the phone number that is listed on the website. I called after hours not with the intension of speaking to anyone but just to see if the school was legit... And someone answered the phone. So, I began to probe. This is what I found out. Prince of Prestige Academy was once a production company that was transformed into a production school. The company has been around for a while but the school is fairly new. According to woman I spoke to on the phone, the tuition for the entire twelve week diploma program is $1,180.00 and the application fee is $35.00. She also mentions that I should sign up for the beta program. Apparently, every-once-in-a-while the school conducts an evaluation of their program and uses students to provide feedback on the quality of the program. I just so happened to call at the perfect time and signed up for April 2011. I was convinced to take the program when I was told that all I had to pay was the $35.00 application fee and $59.00 tuition and give feedback on the program"¦ It also eased my mind when I found out that all the Instructors have a Masters degree or above.
I submitted my application and paid my application fee and am waiting to see if I get accepted. If I am accepted, and if I remember this site, I will return and provide some addition feedback on how good an education it is.
