Toddlers Recognize Social Status

Toddlers prefer winners, but avoid those who win by force. Toddlers aged just 1 1/2 years prefer individuals whom other people yield to. It appears to be deeply rooted in human nature to seek out those with the highest social status. This motive might have evolved because being close to high-ranking individuals has given people access to resources, territory and mates. Source 3g.
