Bursting bubbles launch bacteria from water to air. A new study shows how bubbles contaminated with bacteria can act as tiny microbial grenades, bursting and launching microorganisms, including potential pathogens, out of the water and into the air. Source 5d.

When something isn't cleaned for awhile you can see tiny bubbles develop around like in the case of food left to sit. I wonder if those bubbles are the same as this?
