Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation

Botulinum toxin shows promise in trials to reduce post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF) in cardiac surgery patients. Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a common complication, affecting one quarter to one half of all patients following cardiac surgery. It can result in heart failure, stroke, and longer hospital stays, resulting in an increased cost of care. A new study reports promising results from two clinical trials using botulinum toxin (BTX) injections to suppress POAF. Source 4u.

Advancement in medicine is amazing but it will be so good if people could see that they can do so much more to avoid a future surgery bu making some life changing decisions in their diet.
