So exciting! They defy predictions again in his naming. To me, it sounds very much like an American name (Minus the Royal family name, obviously). I can't wait to see pictures with his little Cambridge cousins.

Archie is strange for me as a name of a royal. It just doesn't fit 'royalty' when I hear it but that's probably because I came from the era of Archie comics.

I totally agree, but I've also heard that short nickname-type names like Archie, rather than Archibald, have been more popular in England lately. I love names and follow baby name sites that follows trends and rankings across the world. On the other hand, maybe they named him that precisely because it does have such a non-Royal flavor to it? They do like to buck tradition, it seems.

Maybe. I'm pretty sure she chose that name and they are different in every way compared to royal tradition. Lets see what the child looks like in about 3-4 years.

I could see either of them picking Archie--the name has been used on both Hollyoaks and EastEnders, as well as the Hornblower series, in the UK. Harrison is much more American to me, and I wonder if it's a family name for Meghan.
