For this past year there was a significant increase for kidnapping, especially for the purpose of ransoming too. I'm sure it has to do with the current Venezuelan situation that is transferring criminals from there to the island, including pirates that want money.
This case is strange. Its not the typical kidnapping because the alleged victim declares not to tell the police nothing. The family not involving police is also strange or maybe they're just saying that.
