Lanilian the Mystic

I am Lanilian, son of Makalion, and pure-born Elf into a glorious lineage which have long been Elven nobility. I was given this name because it means pathway or route in the old tongue of my people. My father prized knowledge and believed I could succeed only if I followed the path to knowledge and magical wisdom. I am known as the Mystic because I have delved deep into all areas of magical study my whole life. This, paired with my natural affinity for magic, has made me a powerful mage and master of arcane arts. My studies range from the most basic and utilitarian charms to esoteric and experimental magic.

I was born an Elf because my parents were both noble Elves with a long line of pure blood that stretched back to time immemorial. This bloodline also had an innate affinity for magic for generations, of which I am no exception.

I stand 6'6" tall with an average built body for an Elf, which is to say more slender than a human. I have golden blond hair that is cut short with piercing brown eyes that can appear black in low lighting. My pale skin and elegant, stoic appearance in general makes me unique and gives me an authoritative aura.

I see myself as one who follows magic-users and mages of the highest caliber. I want to increase my magical knowledge and power by studying the magical arts in depth. I plan to use this power to impact the world around me and defeat any foe.

It should be known that I view other races as lesser and with light to severe disdain depending. The worst are the mongrel half-elves which stain the racial purity of Elves. Elven supremacy is the irrefutable truth. Thus, I now start this path to power, knowledge, and victory.

Advisor Description

Baenerion is an Elf born of common stock who has served my family his entire life. Rising from a common stable-boy in his youth to head steward of my family's lands on his older years, he has managed to accrue a great deal of expertise with court life and the common politics of the realm. He knows how to govern and deal with peoples of all types.

He has long been a wise mentor to me since childhood and has viewed me with great respect. He taught me much of politics and governance, but he still has much to teach me with regard to all manner of other subjects. He believes I will be great and has agreed to accompany me on my travels to help facilitate my studies and growth in power. Like an uncle without blood relation, he is my most trusted advisor.

Baenerion is a short Elf around 5'11" and fat. His ruddy appearance still shines through despite his attempts to hide his humble origins with elegant, fashionable clothing and constant bathing. He has learned to speak as a noble, but his actual vocabulary and tone reflect that of common citizens, allowing him to adapt to any circumstance or crowd. His eyes are bright green and always squinting due to his plump cheeks. His hair is short and white; often kept tucked under a fine silk cap. He has no physical or magical prowess.
