Illinois jury finds gang member guilty of first degree murder in the 2015 killing of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee. After just a few hours of deliberation late Thursday night, a Cook County jury found Dwright Boone-Doty guilty of first degree murder of Tyshawn Lee, who was shot and killed in one of Chicago's most horrific crimes. Tyshawn was a fourth grader in November 2015 when he was killed by gang members to send a message to his father, an alleged member of a rival gang, prosecutors say. Source 4d.
This is exactly why getting involved with gangs in any sort of way puts you almost in a 'doomed' situation - they'd kill you AND your family, and if not they'd kill one of your own family members and use maximum intimidation to get you to do what they want. On top of that, if you try to report to the police they'd end up attempting to kill you and if not you, your family as I said again. This is a repeating, messed up situation that happens all over the world and it must be stopped - but there's a huge web of connecting crimes when it comes to gangs and it's not so easy to halt this process.
