Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for helping end 20-year stalemate with Eritrea. Nobel Committee announced Abiy Ahmed, who clinched a peace deal last year that ended 20 years of a military stalemate between his country and its northern neighbor, Eritrea, won the honor "For his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation." There were 301 candidates for this year’s prize. Ref. USAToday
