NASCAR driver Ryan Newman 'is awake and speaking with family and doctors' after scary crash at Daytona 500. During the final stretch of the Daytona 500, Newman's car was bumped from behind, thrown into the wall and then flipped and was hit by another car. After skidding across the finish line amid sparks and flames, Newman was rushed to a local hospital. Ref. USAToday.
