Defense Production Act


President Trump invokes the Defense Production Act, a 1950 law that could expedite production of respirators and other medical equipment. The Defense Production Act allows the government to direct private industry to help with emergencies, such as a war effort or national emergency. Ref. USAToday.

This will help a lot of Americans but at the same time this must be done with a nationwide lockdown so that the spread of Covid can help the medical industry to not be completely overwhelemed. Sure, medical equipment can be great but I believe that the lockdown PLUS the new production and usage of medical equipment can make a far better combination.
