Theories Of Gun Combat

In a war which gun would you rather have against the enemy? They each have their pros and cons including accuracy, weight, noise, amount of ammo needed, etc.

Combat Gun Theories

I know nothing about guns and shooting them, but I would think in general a 'one and done' type of thing would be best, so no one suffers more than they need to. I suppose it would depend on who the victim is, though. If it's someone that is a horrible abuser and torturer and such, maybe the machine gun.
