How cold was the ice age? Researchers now know. Scientists have nailed down the temperature of the last ice age -- the Last Glacial Maximum of 20,000 years ago - to about 46 degrees Fahrenheit. Source 7c.

That doesn't sound too bad, to be honest. I've dealt with temperatures in the -10s here in Nebraska. But, if its an average, then dealing with it most of the time is not fun at all.
