Programmed Obsolescence.

The truth is that I have a good PC, it's a few years old now, but it's still a good machine. I planned it very carefully and without being the most expensive equipment I could have assembled, I am very satisfied with its performance. However, I must admit, I no longer have any upgrade options, because the architecture has changed. The new graphics cards no longer match the slots I have available.

All this leads me to think: To what extent are these changes due to scientific advances or are just commercial measures? What would be the impact on the wealth flow if it were not necessary to change goods so often due to obsolescence? And how does all this affect not only our well-being, but also the planet in the future?

A complex question indeed.
