I meant socialist in that we all basically get the same percentage decrease across the board. Practically, this doesnt happen if the rich hit the AMT...then they will always hit the AMT...they dont get a change, but then again, they are paying the minimum and probably a lower percentage than the middle class. Actually, the tax cuts in that reform ended up as a wash for the rich because the AMT didnt change, but then again they are rich. That is what the Bush Tax cuts achieved.

Since either tax cut lowers taxes, it is the end result that is what would make the basic 3% across the board cut more of a conservative approach in the end, but the application was basically the same for everyone (kind of a socialist application- imo).

The Bush tax reform lowered the capital gains taxes by 2 percent Still way to high, but it did get lowered some.

The thing that bothers me is that we talk every 4 years like there is a way to make sure that there are no poor in the country. The only way that can happen is if we all have the same job and honestly, even in that case, we would still have Performance Reviews and there would have to be a people that were better than others and it would be recognized in pay. I guess, all the people that studied and got really good jobs can give all their money back to the poor, but then why go through the hard work of studies? There will always be poor in a culture. The only way to eliminate poor from your population is to bring in others to do the jobs that the poor do illegally. Then you just have a hidden poor popluation. I am not saying that we shouldnt help the poor, but the idea that a small tax cut is going to relieve their burden of being poor is insane.

I liked what all you had said Vincenzo, you just used Socialism in the wrong context. I personally believe that, they just try to act like the lower class is going to have significant increases in living conditions. But, I don't think most people in the lower class, read between the lines.

Yes we will always have poor as long as we have greed and people who only do what they do to increase monetary rewards. Just fact to right or wrong in that.

Yes I do believe the politicians pray on the lack of understanding when they mention such small tax breaks for the lower income levels.

Truly to help them we would have to do just what you said Vincenzo we have to give back income from the higher incomes to the lower through a greater tax break for low level incomes.

I believe that no matter what system of tax you come up with there is always going to be a division of poor, middle and rich people. There is always going to be those who do not want to work and not receive a lot of compensation and would rather live off of others by stealing or scavenging what they can. It is a proven thing. This is why I believe the flat tax is probably the best way to go.

I've heard of issues before with flat tax, but I can not quite find an article to say whether it is as good as it sounds.

You will never see much written over a flat tax because too many people would be without jobs if it was as simple as just calculating a flat fee. Nearly anyone could do it with the help of a solar calculator. There are thousands and thousands of jobs that depend on the complex system in place and without it business would close...certainly wouldnt need HR Block anymore...

Yes many leeches feeding from my hard earned dollar due to another government blunder. Sorry but with investments and charitable donations I am sure the rich once again will find a way to loop hole out of their payments.

Yah? So I suppose Flat tax isn't the answer then. I actually came up with something last night before I went to bed, and I only remember half of it. I'll get to back to guys on it when I remember the full tax strategy.
