Yes, unfortunately, things are not going so well politically in our little country. Especially the previous 4 years, there were so many problems that Greeks couldn't take it any more. We have a new government now, and the people are hoping for something better. I'm not very optimistic We keep voting for the same people over and over; first the fathers and then, the next generations vote them or their sons (laugh). We tend to forget very easily, it seems.
But, well, there will always be riots when there are problems, and that's everywhere. To me, all that shows that people still care about what's happening in their countries; when there are no riots or protests, then that means something really bad or perfect, and it's usually the former.

Tell me about it look at us and the Bushes! (father and son) Yikes! They sank our country. At least in Greece so far we don't see a huge problem with freedom of speech.

In terms of power and influence, Greece is nowhere near as important as the USA or England. There had been times when what you said got you in deep trouble(the Greek Junta for example) but exactly because we're not that important, things like that simply don't matter.
You cannot find freedom of speech anywhere; it may sound like a conspiracy theory but how free exactly can your speech be when you are afraid to tell what you think about your political beliefs ,for example, in case they make a note of it, beat you or even kill you for it? Or how can a homosexual speak freely when they know what will happen once they try to give their view on things?
It's funny, but it seems like that by protesting, people have found a way of forcing others to listen to what they have to say; they're forcing that freedom of speech on everyone. *Sigh* I can go on for hours with this conversation (laugh), I hope I am not being a bore.

Yes I am aware Greece is a small country and that freedom of speech doesn't truly exist but at the same time there are some countries worst than others. Here in the US you can shout to the world that you're a Nazi, etc with no problems at all instead, in Venezuela where you cannot even complain without getting in trouble, so where is Greece in this map really?

Depends on what you have to complain about, and how many of you are there. If you want to complain about economy or politics with a lot of people, then no problem, as long as it is peaceful; but there will still be some trouble with the police.
But I am pretty sure that if a group of Greeks even dared try to complain about immigrants or Albanians or homosexuals, they would be beaten on the spot, or perhaps later in "more quiet places, away from the public eyes" and not necessarily by the police forces. No one does it, because they're afraid of what might happen; it's taboo.
