Yes the gas Giants in this solar system and hopefully others can maybe shed more light on the beginnings of our solar system and other solar systems that we will find as we explore the vastness of space.

Yes, that would be exciting to be able to travel to other worlds. Just like in all the "Star Trek" shows smile.gif.

I think we have the technology at hand to do this traveling. To be able to travel to Jupiter and learn more about it while being close to it and explore more of the moons around the planet too.

Oh, Yes, very much so. To find out about them and what they may hold for us in the future. It is fascinating what they have found out already about the "Giant Red Spot".

Of all the planets in our solar system I find Jupiter the most fascinating. It is very large and swirls in various directions. I'm not the only one either, many have made movies and written books on it.

Jupiter was labeled as a proto sun, with it being large enough and supplied with almost all the right materials to actually be a second sun in our Solar System. Apparently, another 10% increase in size/mass would have triggered the reaction and BOOM! New sun! With the current count of moons surround this giant planet at 69 (Although some of them are smaller than Rhode Island), the planet is a micro solar system in itself.
NASA has been working hard on ionic Hall Effect thrusters for inter space travel, as this technology seems the be our most efficient at this time. Think Impulse engines from Star Trek. There currently isn't any Warp Drive in the works, but we'll get there.
With all this, cutting budgets for space exploration is ridiculous! We need to stop carrying our entire existence in one basket, and start colonizing other worlds. We currently have all the technology to make any colony self-sufficient, as long as there is available H2O, with enough backing. Let's just hope we get out there before we wipe ourselves out, and not take stupid ideologies with us into the universe.

Oh, so very true there Gknightbc! We've treated our own planet with reckless abandonment and look where it's gotten us.We do need to explore our solar system more as well as other systems that are out there.

Did you know that despite its massive size one day on Jupiter is equal to less than 10 hours. That means things are spinning there real fast!
