France Terrorism

While I understand that many Arabs living in France may now feel threatened by angry people let's not forget that the same thing happened in America during world war 2. The Japanese were rounded up and put into camps after Pearl Harbor. I guess what I am saying is that its a natural knee jerk reaction to a terrible event where people lost people they love.

Someone mentioned people in France getting more attention that the same things that happen elsewhere and you're right. I think the reason for this is the shock value. You would not expect something like this to happen in Paris but you would if it was Afghanistan.

Well, Paris is closer to us than Afghanistan too. But even when the riots in Egypt or the war in Libya started some years back, there still was a silence from the western media. Even to my country (Greece) which is near these countries.

They want to shatter France's economy but I've been thinking, why France? They have not been playing any major role like other countries have in the middle east so why target them so much?

France has many interests in the Middle East, albeit they do not advertise it. Also it is in the middle of the EU and next to Germany (Which is more powerful politically and economically). These events can act as a trojan horse or as a diversion.
