Tried for what? people throw stuff at each other all the time and they don't go to court. The worst that could have happened is a bruise on Bush's face.

Not sure I get you Daria. The President of the United States does not fit in the category of "people" and he certainly was not throwing any shoes back. Just because you have a point of view does not mean you are allowed to use archaic methods of voicing it.

I read a piece a few days ago that really got me thinking about this incident. At first, I didn't really pay attention to the incident, considering it just another "Bush bash" gleefully carried by the media.

However, remember, that to most of the world, President Bush is the symbol of the United States. This guy was not just insulting the President, but showing complete contempt towards the United States. I doubt, to him, it would make much difference whether it was President Bush, or President Obama.
