About this Board

The Chess Community Discussion Board was born out of the interest for the game of chess by those intellectuals occupying the world wide web. Considering that Chess is seen as a game for the 'brainy' what better place to introduce a Board that fits the themes of this Community.

In addition to this reasoning we have two offerings for online play if you are an Member: one allows single matches between you and the computer (Single Player Chess), and the other allows you to play against other players in this Community Member vs. Member Chess. To access these games click on the links above the topics in this Board.

In this Board all topics should be centered around the game of chess or those who played it at the Regional / World level. Other games, RPGs and so on should be discussed in other Discussion Boards provided within the Community.

Various Types Of Chess Games

You will notice that the Chess interface here allows you to play:

Classic - Chess you and I are accustomed to playing

Dark Chess - A player doesn't see the entire board, only their own pieces (including pawns), and squares where these pieces could move.

Extinction Chess - A player must capture all of his/her opponent's pieces to win.

Chess 960 - Players have castling possibilities for all starting positions.

It is recommended that you first start with the Classic style of play before venturing into the others.

Threads will be started about each of these Chess Game types.
