What do you all think about the New York Post cartoon some people say was a racist depiction of President Barack Obama?

| Cartoonist Sean Delonas drew police having shot dead a chimp, saying "they'll have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill". The paper said it had been meant to "mock an ineptly written" bill. Commentators had denounced the cartoon, and protesters picketed the newspaper's headquarters. "To those who were offended by the image, we apologise," the paper said in an editorial. However, the paper went on to accuse "some in the media and in public life who have had differences with the Post in the past" of using the row over the cartoon "as an opportunity for payback". How commentators first reacted to the cartoon "To them, no apology is due," the paper said. "Sometimes a cartoon is just a cartoon - even as the opportunists seek to make it something else," it concluded. On Tuesday President Obama signed into law a $787bn (£548bn) economic stimulus package. The plan only passed through Congress after weeks of political wrangling. 'Racist drivel' The New York Post said earlier that the cartoon was "a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimp in Connecticut. Hundreds Protest NY Post Cartoon Seen as Racist Depiction of Obama
Protests are continuing today outside the offices of the New York Post following the publication of a cartoon that critics say depicts President Obama as an executed chimpanzee. After a number of civil rights activists and organizations called for a boycott of the paper, the Post issued an apology of sorts last night. We hear some of the voices from Thursday's protest, including the civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton. Ref. Source 2
