Omega-3 lowers childhood aggression in short term

Consuming omega-3 initially improves a child's aggressive behavior, according to researchers but the effects eventually vanish. Ref. Source 1i.

What accounts for the initial calming effect then? I've always seen Omega 3 as a solution to reduced inflammation, cholesterol, etc. Perhaps the added health helps children initially and its being interpreted as being less aggressive.
