Nighthawk Introduction - Page 57

We drove to Utah yesterday. We left at about 9:00 in the morning, after I took Oberon to the kennels. We drove all day, and got here at about 7:00 - 7:30 in the evening. That is 11 to 11 1/2 hours of travel (we changed one time zone). All of it with Bel sitting on somebody's knees. She starts to get heavy after a while.

As usual, Utah is lovely. There was a lot of snow on the north sides of hills and mountains in Wyoming. It was very pretty.

We will spend the afternoon with my mother, two brothers, my sister and her three children, and all six of our children (along with our son-in-law). My wife is preparing pumpkin rolls right now (YUMMMMMMMM!)

As can be imagined, it has been incredibly hectic for the last few days. My wife and children got to Nebraska in the evening on Friday. The movers arrived with all of our goods Saturday afternoon. We spent all evening Saturday, most of the day Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday moving things around, emptying boxes, and generally trying to get organized enough to live.

We will head back to Nebraska on Saturday (another 11 hour trip!) Then, my wife, middle son, and youngest daughter will all head back to Michigan, a 14 hour trip, on Sunday. I think they will stop this time and spend the night somewhere, to break up the drive. Then they will completely move in the middle of December.

Anyway, life goes on, interesting as usual.

Wow, that's a lot of driving in just a few days... I really feel for you and your family as you make this transition. Hope you have enjoyed this brief time together, and that things going forward will be smooth for you all.

Sounds like you have had a busy but enjoyable time with your family Nighthawk!
Not long now until the middle of December, and you'll all be together then. I know it's probably really horrible to all be separated by hundreds of miles, but hold on to the fact that soon they will be with you permanently in Nebraska, exciting times ahead of you my friend.

Wow, that's a lot of travel, especially for your wife. Thank goodness the end is in site for you. I'm glad you were able to enjoy being with your family, in my neck of the woods! The town in Nebraska you have moved to sounds charming. I love a small town atmosphere and often wish I could go back to it. Good luck with the final move in December.

We are all back in action now. Oberon, the Monster Dog, is happily situated by my feet as I write. He once again gets to sit in the kitchen and keep me company.

Son #3 is here with me, and very happy, since he gets to spend a lot of time just watching TV or playing World of Warcraft. He does seem to really enjoy his new school.

My wife, along with son #2 and daughter #3, are once again in Michigan. They will be coming out in two weeks.
