Nighthawk Introduction - Page 57
We drove to Utah yesterday. We left at about 9:00 in the morning, after I took Oberon to the kennels. We drove all day, and got here at about 7:00 - 7:30 in the evening. That is 11 to 11 1/2 hours of
travel (we changed one time zone). All of it with Bel sitting on somebody's knees. She starts to get heavy after a while.
As usual, Utah is lovely. There was a lot of snow on the north sides of hills and mountains in Wyoming. It was very pretty.
We will spend the afternoon with my mother, two brothers, my sister and her three children, and all six of our children (along with our son-in-law). My wife is preparing pumpkin rolls right now (YUMMMMMMMM!)
As can be imagined, it has been incredibly hectic for the last few days. My wife and children got to Nebraska in the evening on Friday. The movers arrived with all of our goods Saturday afternoon. We spent all evening Saturday, most of the day Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday moving things around, emptying boxes, and generally trying to get organized enough to live.
We will head back to Nebraska on Saturday (another 11 hour trip!) Then, my wife, middle son, and youngest daughter will all head back to Michigan, a 14 hour trip, on Sunday. I think they will stop this time and spend the night somewhere, to break up the drive. Then they will completely move in the middle of December.
Anyway, life goes on, interesting as usual.
