Spell Drugs

Can drugs be used as spells or spells as drugs? I was reading about some alchemy and I got to thinking that its just like drug making.

Alchemy is an ancient art, it had two main goals.
One was to make the elixir that would give the drinker eternal life.
The other was to produce the philosopher's stone, a device that would transform base metals into gold.
The quest for these would give us the basis for modern chemistry.

There is a much deeper meaning in ALCHEMY, the true quest is the transformation of the being. Eternal life is not the mortal, it is that of the soul.
And as for the gold, it is that of the evolution of the spirit.

I didn't think that it was htat specific. I knew it was for research of potions with different effects and I would presume that one would be to search after staying young.
