Insanity, Pure Evil Or Possession?

Insanity, Pure Evil or Possession?

When you read about some of the serious horrific crimes these days you will see varying reasons for actions committed by criminals such as demons, voices, insanity, etc. This thread asks the question(s)...

1. Is someone truly insane or are they possessed because of former evil when they commit such crimes?

2. If someone is insane and commits a horrific crime will they be judged as 'innocent' or 'guilty' in the hereafter?

QUOTE

Main Entry: in·san·I·ty
Function: noun
1 : unsoundness of mind or lack of the ability to understand that prevents one from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or that releases one from criminal or civil responsibility: as a : a disease, defect, or condition of the mind that renders one unable to understand the nature of a criminal act or the fact that it is wrong or to conform one's conduct to the requirements of the law being violated b : inability to understand and participate in legal proceedings brought against one : INCOMPETENCE c : inability to understand the nature and purpose of a punishment (as the death penalty) to which one has been sentenced d : inability to understand the nature and consequences of one's acts (as making a will) or of events, matters, or proceedings in which one is involved

I believe that possession was the invention of people that didn't understand the mental state of a person committing the heinous acts when they was clearly something wrong with the person. Insanity and being pure evil are separate conversations, because someone who knows what they are doing when they commit horrible crimes is not insane because they know what they aware of their actions. They may however be evil, but evil is usually define by the outward observer.

Mental illness cases swamp criminal justice system

In an ongoing series, USA TODAY is exploring the human and financial costs the country pays for not caring more about the nearly 10 million Americans with serious mental illness. The latest installment zeroes in on America's overburdened criminal justice system. From police departments and prisons to courthouses and jails, the care of those who are mentally ill weighs heaviest on law enforcement authorities. Read more in this special report. Ref. USAToday

These are debatable questions but from personal opinion if you are mentally ill then you are not accountable for what you do. It does not mean you are not a danger to society or even yourself but you are not held in the same way as someone who think and plans out a criminal act with a sane mind.

international QUOTE
1. Is someone truly insane or are they possessed because of former evil when they commit such crimes?

A person's evil acts of the past have nothing to do with possession. Possession is no easy task. Unless the spirit is extremely powerful, only suicidal people or those with minds weakened by drugs or alcohol can be possessed.

Ever see the movie The Hangover? The reason the men had no memory of the previous night was because they were possessed and were not the one's controlling their own actions.

international QUOTE
2. If someone is insane and commits a horrific crime will they be judged as 'innocent' or 'guilty' in the hereafter?

If insane is simply being used as another word for possession, then the person will be judged as innocent in the hereafter as a possessed person is nothing more than a tool to some evil entity. Punishing the person for committing an act while possessed would be just as silly as putting a car in prison for some driver using the car while intoxicated. As the car has no choice whether or not it is driven, it makes absolutely no sense to punish the car.
