QUITO.- Los ecuatorianos acuden desde esta mañana a las urnas para celebrar elecciones generales anticipadas para cubrir diversos cargos públicos, incluyendo los de presidente y vice, asambleístas y autoridades locales, en un país donde el voto es obligatorio.

El actual mandatario, Rafael Correa, el gran favorito para imponerse incluso sin necesidad de ir a un ballotage, busca en esta oportunidad -además de su reelección, consolidar una mayoría absoluta con la cual poder sortear la crisis económica.
