Daughter Forgives Parents For Incest
It is such a terrible thing when people do not realize that forgiving is one thing and letting people pay for what they have done wrong, another. This sick woman and man (I refuse to call these demons, "parents") are now freed to go about and hurt other children. *shaking head*
QUOTE FORGIVENESS by their daughter is what caused a Matura couple to walk out of the Port of Spain High Court yesterday, freed of incest.
The duo were before Justice Devan Rampersad in the Fifth Criminal Court, who, on dismissing the matter, told the couple that had their daughter given evidence against them, they would have been in a different position.
When the matter was called on April 23, the victim, who was 13 when she claimed she was sexually assaulted, said that she did not want to give evidence against her parents.
The victim told the court that she had recently joined a Pentecostal church and had forgiven her parents. She added that in the passage of time, she hoped that the relationship between she and her parents would have re-established.
When the matter was re-called the following day, the woman again refused to testify, Rampersad then advised her to seek legal counsel about her decision, which she did and showed up in court with her attorney, Rajiv Persad, yesterday, again refusing to testify. Rampersad was then forced to direct the jurors, six men and three women, to return a not-guilty verdict.
The victim's mother, a housewife, was charged with aiding and abetting her husband after she allegedly held her child so that her husband could have sex with her.
