Serial Rapist On The Loose
Even though the police knew where he lived, had his car registration number, etc the beast got away. The police in Trinidad is so slow to act, it is sickening!
QUOTE Teenage girls between 13 and 17 years old are being targetted by a serial rapist posing as a PH taxi driver on the Morvant to Port-of-Spain route, according to the police.
There have been 15 cases of r-pe of teenage girls in the past month alone, and the latest victim was attacked last Sunday afternoon, investigators have disclosed.
The suspect, who is believed to be in his early 40s and married, operates a white Nissan Wingroad car on the Morvant taxi stand at the corner of George Street and Independence Square south, opposite the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, in Port-of-Spain. Police have the vehicle's registration number.
Investigators said the suspect originally resided at Redhill, Morvant but had been staying at a house on Bridge Street, San Juan. However, the suspect moved out of Bridge Street between Monday and yesterday morning just as investigators were about to make an arrest.
The suspect's last r-pe victim was a 16-year-old girl from Morvant.
The girl and a female friend got into the suspect's PH taxi at about 4 pm on Sunday at the Morvant taxi stand. Police said the suspect drove off with the two girls and told them, "not to worry I will pick up the other passengers along the way."
One of the girls dropped off at her destination and left the 16-year-old alone in the car with the suspect, who drove to a lonely road at 1st Caledonia, Morvant where he whipped out a knife and placed it at her throat. He raped the girl and after the ordeal dropped her off at her destination.
The victim reported the r-pe to her parents who immediately took her to the St James District Health Facility for treatment. Officers of the Morvant Police Station were then informed and an investigation was launched....
