Originality

One thread in this forum has me asking the question...

Has it all been done before?  All of our feelings, our thoughts...has some philosopher or psychologist already felt/picked apart/explained that feeling?  I know that material accomplishments and innovations can be relatively original...so can breakthroughs in science and technology.

But when it comes to our expression, feelings, philosophies on life, do you think that there is anything new left?  Sure, somebody can come up with some idea that seems original compared to the prevailing attitudes of the day, but that doesnt mean it hasn't already been thought of in the distant past...

I don't necessarily even have a set opinion on this.  I'm just curious to see thoughts and debate.

Xtra, this is one of those topics that can go on and on forver. Originality I guess, can be all that has not yet been discovered by those who look on. Since what is original to one person may be a 'common' thing for another.

Its not so much the fact that the things they say and do are original. Everyone is original, no person is the same. Unique as one might say. Even twins aren' the same this think differently which makes them Unique and Original. People think in different ways so if two people are thinking about how happy they are, each thought is still original because it comes from an original person. Neither are thinking the exact same thing. One might be happier than the other. Each person has their Original points or Extensionalism whcih means Individuality. We may have many things that are Universal as in being unoriginal but each person is individual. Its hard to explain what is going thought my head...was this clear?
