Miss Trinidad And Tobago 2008

Miss Trinidad And Tobago 2008

There was a screening on Saturday and seven finalists were chosen. Feel free to say which one is your favorite (at least in looks). The pic is very small, hopefully we will see more in the next few weeks.

QUOTE
Scores of women, between the ages of 18 and 26, turned up at the Zen night club on Keate Street in Port of Spain, yesterday, hoping for a chance to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Miss Universe pageant to be held in Vietnam on July 15, and the Miss World pageant in Ukraine later in October.

In a telephone interview after the four-hour screening session, queen maker Peter Elias, who described the experience as wonderful, said they only printed 120 tickets but there were more women than tickets at the venue yesterday.

"We only screened 120 of them but eventually seven of them were chosen. All of them came from different parts of the country so we had a very good mix. But I think the seven finalists chosen are all strong."

The seven women chosen are: Makeda O'Neil, 23, Sasiya Albert, 22, Kerry Ann Murphy, 19, Priya Chanderbally, 24, June Lightbourne, 23, Anya Ayoung-Chee, 26, and Gabriel Walcott, 23.

The girls were screened by fashion photographer Calvin French, make-up artist Sandra Hordatt, stage performance specialist Alyson Brown, hair stylist Ashvin Bally, personality development specialist Adrian Raymond and Elias....

Here are some pics of the seven finalists. They will choose two of them to represent Trinidad in international pageants such as Miss Universe. Which one is your favorite?

Mine are Gabriel Walcott (although she seems a little short) and June Lightbourne.

More pics of the girls. The final is tonight. I suggest to check the second link I provided in my second post(Guardian) where each one of the girls can be seen clearly. Make your guess as which are your two favorites.

Out of the ones chosen I only see three with potential and only two that would fit international standards. I could not bare watching it though as the host is really monotone and boring, they need to get a more professional host. That thing with bringing the step up stool for him to stand on was so cheesy.

Which ones are the three JB? I was shocked as some of the contestants sound very uneducated. shocked.gif' /> Gabrielle Walcott was the best with regards to speaking but she is way too short.

Update: Well, my favorite Gabrielle Walcott was chosen to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the Miss World competition and Anya Ayoung-Chee will represent the country in the Miss Universe Pageant.

Every country claims they have the most beautiful women in the world, here the people are no different, but for me these ladies do NOT reflect the women you will see walking down the street on a typical day, in other words they are not the average, they are the rare, the unique, the hidden, the exception that you may only find in certain designated places. Funny enough I was commenting to LDS_forever that some of the women in the audience looked better than the ones on the stage.
