FAA: More registered drones than pilots

An official with the Federal Aviation Administration said yesterday that the agency passed the milestone last week when it topped 325,000 registered drone owners. There are 320,000 licensed pilots of manned aircraft in the country. Ref. Source 1v.

I hate drones. They are way too intrusive and could be easily used by someone with bad intentions to wreak havoc on a lot of people.

Runic is right. I can see the 'fun' in having one of these but most of the time they aren't being used for innocent fun time in the park but to snoop. I've also thought about the security implications and its frightening to think about.

Usually anything good will be used at someone for something bad. That's how it is with most everything. Take cars for instance, do we ban all cars because some people will drink and drive or use them to commit robberies?

New FAA drone rules limit small commercial drone operations to daylight hours

The rules mark the Federal Aviation Administration's first attempt at a comprehensive plan to ensure the popular remote-controlled aircraft can safely share the skies with commercial craft. Operators will be required to get certified every two years. Ref. USAToday.
