MAN THROWS SONS OFF BALCONY, THEN LEAPS TO DEATH

A man, who took his family to Miami to mark a wedding anniversary, threw his two sons from a 15th-floor balcony and jumped to his own death in front of his wife.

This is incomprehensible to me. Why would this man take the innocent lives of his own children. Why not just his own. I think it may have been for revenge on his wife. Mental illness could be another reason. I'm sorry if this makes the scene more grisly but, I can't help but feel horrible for the second boy who watched his brother being thrown from the balcony and knew what was coming.

I am in no way condoning this man's actions -- but this is not the work of someone who has a healthy mind. This can only be someone who is very, very sick. You don't do something like this because you think it's the thing to do. There are impulse crimes that you do like "crimes of passion" that I don't think are right either, mind you -- but, those seem to make a little more sense than something like this. This is something more like when things are so bad and you feel like you are saving the children from something worse? Maybe that is how he felt? I am not saying it is right - I am sure it is the most horrible thing in the world for the brother who watched, as Valla said -- and then the wife who watched her husband and realized her sons were below. It's horrible.
