New group you head back to the village to see what information can gather. A villager will tell you that a group of adventurers had left to go north a few days past to rid the area of orcs. They may be the reason your having issues finding any orcs.
Lead party - The large orc sees you turning around and he tells you that your have decided wisely. He barks out a couple commands and the orcs follow him as he turns and heads westward. Your return to the village of Strafford is a long slow trek as you return feeling defeated.
The weather is nice and the day looks like a great day to head adventuring. You head out the south gate looking forward to checking out these ruins that you have heard about. The road ahead of you is clear and soon you see the road ahead turning to the east. It is shortly after this turn that the road ends at the river where there is a barge that will transport you across the river to the other side where you can see the road continue. The owner of the barge asks for one silver per person to cross the river.
You pay the fare and board the ferry. The ferry driver grabs a hold of the rope that runs across the river and slowly pulls you across the river. After about a hour you find yourself once again on the road as it continues to the east. You are once again moving along the road. A little past midday the road splits. The road continues to the east while another road heads due south. Which way do you wish to head?
You decide to travel east in hopes of coming across the ruins soon. You travel the rest of the day as the ground begins to rise into a more rugged hilly area. You can see the mountains in the east get closer with each passing day. The forest begins to get thinner as you get closer to the edge of it. As you leave the forest behind your find yourself upon a top of a hill in the grassy plains. Looking about you see nothing that looks like ruins. The Druid senses that maybe the road to the south that you passed may have lead to the ruins.
Sorry for the delay.
The soldiers will pull up and greet you politely. They are a patrol headed out to the eastern hills to make sure that the road lies clear from here to the border two days away. They will ask you if you have seen anything strange at all since your coming from the east.
The patrol informs you that not many people have went to the ruins to the south and returned. One did return from a party of seven and talked about a lizard or small dragon surrounded by the undead. He was not right in the head so we could not say if what he said was truth or not. If your wanting to head there you will just need to head south when you see the road heading that way. It is just over a day south. Many say the ruins are the remains of a great ancient city that was destroyed back in age of dragons.
