The leader of the patrol says we would love to help you with the ruins but our orders are clear and we must make sure this east road is clear to the border. We wish you good luck in the south and hope to see you back in town in one piece. With that they bd you farewell and head to the east.
You continue to the west and after about a hour and a half you come to the road that heads to the south. Turning to the south you continue your journey. You can see that the land is beginning to get less hilly and off in the distance you can begin to see what looks like a large city. As you get closer to the city you can see the towers and larger buildings appear wrong like missing parts. The city looks to have a wall that is broken around it. It looks like it is still a few hours away as the sun begins to go down. Do you wish to continue through the night to the ruins or camp and wait till the morning?
You are able to bag a few rabbits for supper. The river is not far away to the west so you can get over to it and get fresh water and be back in camp before a hour is up.
I need spot checks for the people on watch plus everyone roll a d20 while on watch a 1 or 2 on the stay awake roll means you have fallen asleep. If both fall asleep on a watch the next watch is not woke up for their turn. Let me know how it turns out.
You all imagine to stay awake through the watchs and no one sees anything unusual. In the dawn light Avan watches himself slip out to scout ahead.
As avan approaches the city he can see many building in the city have toppled and are slowly giving themselves back to nature.
The main party is a a few hours from the city. What do you wish to do now.
As you approach the city you see that it was a large city. The forest around it has reached and penetrated the walls. The building are falling in. building stones litter the streets along with weeds grasses and trees. birds sit in trees or fly through the sky as you approach. You see the road leading to be what used to be ancient gates that have long since rotted away. You soon come to where the road turns away from the ancient city and circles around to the east. The river can be see to the west. You can see some ancient flagstones here and there that are left from the ancient road into the city. You can hear the winds hitting the buildings giving off a ghostly sound. You can see nothing moving about in the city itself besides birds. you can see that inside the main gates that the road way leaded directly towards the center of the big city. You can see off in the distance a pillar or statue of some sort seeming to rise out of the road ahead.
The party comes together once again on the outsides of the main wall. You can see the cart will be able to maneuver through the streets with little difficulty in the area in which you stand. You have three options available to you once you enter the city proper. Left or to the east, right or the the west or south. Let me know what way you wish to go.
You continue down the street looking left and right as you pass building after building that has fallen into ruin. You do not see anything moving or hear any sounds other than the wind and the birds. Up ahead you see a cross street that runs towards the center of town on the left hand side.
Your at the crossroads. You have three choices to make. Continue west along the outer road, head back east on the outer road or turn south and head deeper into the city. I still need spot rolls for each active character as you make your decisions. If your doing something other than walking down the road I need to know that. SO far you have not seen any indication that there is a entrance to a underground cave or cellar.
